Your Name: Call me Kifu, or lately I've also gone by the name Gambit (can't imagine why)
Age: Fifteen
Is There A Reason You Wanna Play This Canon?: Hmm . . . how's this for a reason? He comes pretty naturally to me (dunno if dat's a good t'ing or not), and I already play him on all the RP sites I'm currently on. I've had some experience with this character.
How'd You Find Us?: Pretty sure I'm friends with the admin. XD

About the Character
Name: Remy Etienne LeBeau
Codename: Gambit
Age: 24/25, exact age unknown
Gender: Male
Species: Homo superior
Affiliation: I'll go with X-Men right now. Warum nicht? I mean, why not?
Mutation/Powers: Gambit's most obvious mutant power is the ability to tap into an object's potential energy and transform it into kinetic energy. When he throws the object at a target, the energy is released in an explosion proportionate to the object's size that he charged. His power works only when he is touching the object, and he cannot charge any living material. Because of his ability to tap into energy, he also has enhanced, superhuman agility and dexterity. Gambit's more subtle power is a slight hypnotic charm that allows him to easier influence another with a sentient mind. More powerful minds are immune, and those who know of his hypnotic charm are as well.
Physical Description: Gambit stands at six feet two inches and weighs at 179 pounds. He's a muscular man, sometimes hiding it, other times showing it, but stands at a weird, leaning posture. Gambit's hair, the color brown with a reddish tint at times, is quite long, coming down to mid back. He normally keeps it in a pony tail out of costume and keeps it hidden under his costume, making it appear as if he has medium length, poofy hair. Gambit's eyes are slightly squinty, though normal in width. His corneas, normally white in normal people, are black, his irises a blazing red, especially when using his powers. His pupils seem to be the only normal color about his eyes.
Personality: Gambit fancies himself as a ladies' man. No doubt he has a charming personality and he's got enough charisma for ten men, but it also doesn't hurt that he possesses a hypnotic charm. He is flirtatious and seems to be too inconsistent to make a great boyfriend, but he is cunning enough to get away with a lot. Most of the time he plays it cool and calm, and with some pretty, silver words, he's able to talk himself out of enough situations. With enough confidence for five more people besides the ten, he doesn't tend to back down from a good challenge.
Deep down, despite his past of thievery, lying and cheating, Remy's a good guy. He has a consciousness, he knows right from wrong. Still, in order to save himself and the some that are close to him, Gambit will go through a bit of trouble and grief, though he tends to shy away from killing a living soul. Seeing as he was a thief once in his life, he would steal without a second thought, especially if it were to benefit him. He's a man who cherishes his money, he can manipulate people enough to get that money in nearly any job.
Remy has a strong mind. He doesn't like when people hold back information from him, but he hides his past away from his teammates. His arrogance might cause him problems at times, but if he can justify something he does in his mind, it's enough. He doesn't like to be bossed around, and though he doesn't like to play team leader, he knows what he wants most of the time and he doesn't have any problem to go off on his own without raising anyone's suspicion. He knows he's good at what he does, and that fact only raises his over-sized ego. He also likes what he does most of the time, making him that much more of a deadly foe.
Face Claim: Taylor Kitsch
History: At birth Remy was abandoned, due to his unnatural eyes. He was taken in by the Thieves' Guild and was learned in the art of thievery. At age ten he attempted to pick the pocket of Jean-Luc, who took the boy off the streets and raised him as his own. Later, an marriage was arranged between Remy and Bella Donna as a peace negotiation, but Bella Donna's brother objected to the marriage, challenging Remy to a duel. Although the man was killed out of self-defense, Remy was banished from New Orleans in an attempt to keep the peace between the two guilds.
Remy then traveled the world, making both good contacts and just as many enemies. He used his skills as a thief to get by, aided by his mutant powers. It was during this time that he took a liking to cards charged with kinetic energy as his weapon.
At some point Remy went up to Mr. Sinister to help in controlling his mutant powers. The geneticist excised part of Remy's brain, reducing his powers to something more manageable and controllable. Being in Sinister's debt, he joined the Marauders, a team of assassins. The group was employed to massacre a group of mutants called the Morlocks, and when Remy realized what was happening he tried to stop it, but a Marauder named Sabretooth nearly killed him. Gambit managed to just get away.
A few years later, another mutant named Wolverine came up to Gambit, asking for some help to find an island where mutant genetics were tested. While Gambit had been traveling around, he was taken there by Stryker and was the only mutant to get off the island. At first Gambit refused, but eventually took the mutant there to help the rest of the mutant children and adults alike to get away. Near the end of the escape, Gambit offered to take Wolverine back with his rickety plane, but the man seemed confused and directly rejected the offer. Once again Gambit was on his own.
Eventually, Gambit met up with an X-Man named Storm, who was transformed into a child. Gambit helped her escape from her enemy, meanwhile becoming partners. When Xavier returned from a long period in outerspace, it was Storm who convinced Gambit to join the X-Men, and Xavier to let him join.

RP Sample:
Gambit walked out through the door that led from the dark, dank hallways to a brighter outside. Just a few feet away from the ominous walls that made up the shell of the prison, he could see an overcast sky and a slight wind blowing at flags at the prison walls that enclosed the mutants inside even more. They certainly believed in a high security prison, and there wasn't any way that fact could be disputed.
Stepping even further into the yard, he looked around and saw, with a sinking heart, that unlike the gym he had been in earlier, there were guards stationed around outside, watching Gambit with cold eyes as he emerged from the inside of the building. Gambit still had to squint to get a clear picture of outside, because even though it wasn't too bright outside, it was brilliant compared to where he had been over the past couple weeks.
"Dey call dis outside?" Gambit asked, realizing how small the fenced in area was. He wouldn't even be able to hold out his arms to full length down the width of the yard, though it was a lot longer than it was wide. It was just like a chain-link fence lined hallway with the sky showing. Walking down the length of it, he reached the end and leaned against the metal, looking up as he watched the clouds slowly make their way across the sky and over the prison. At least he could feel the slight breeze pull at his hair and clothes, rather than being stuck in a stuffy cell.
