About the Character
Name: -Unrevealed-
Codename: Longshot
Age: -Unknown-
Gender: Male
Species: Genetically altered life form from Mojoverse
Affiliation: X-Men
Mutation/Powers: Longshot, since he was genetically altered, has hollow bones, not to mention two hearts. This allows him to have superhuman speed, endurance, agility and reflexes. Also, he has leathery skin and an advanced healing abilities. Longshot possess the ability to psionically affect the probability fields, which--when he is not consciously wishing for good luck--gives him good luck, hence his name. However, if he is using his powers for a selfish or evil act, or if he gives up hope, his powers would backfire and give him bad luck in place of good. Unfortunately, his good luck comes at the price of someone else's bad luck as well. With physical contact, he can telepathically read recent memories of a person, and detect emotional psychic imprints left on, or to be left on, an object. He is also sensitive to hearing the voices of those who are dead.
Physical Description: Longshot stands at six foot two, but is only eighty pounds because of his hollow bone structure. He has blue eyes, one of which glows when his powers are being in use. He also has blond hair, which he has cut in a an obvious mullet. Although Longshot normally keeps on a leather jacket, pants and boots, when he takes off his jacket, it is obvious he has a stong physique, though still lean. Perhaps the one physcial attribute that would give him away as a mutant--or alien--would be the fact that instead of having five fingers, he has four.
Personality: Longshot has a happy-go-lucky way of going through life. Sometimes he's been described as childish as a result of his manner. He always looks on the bright side of things, and sometimes he even has enough influence to lift up the downed spirits of those around him. Even the way he moves reflects that he is naturally this type of person. He almost carries a genuine, broad smile on his face. This could be a result of the happy-go-lucky way of life he chose, but it could just be because he isn't a person easily let down, or one to go off in a dejected manner.
Longshot also seems like he doesn't like to get around the way other people normally do. Instead of walking, he likes to make a show and use his grappling hook he keeps with him to get around on the streets. Instead of pulling off simple manouvers in a fight, he shows of his acrobatic abilities. Some might show it showing off, but he pulls the stunts off in such a way that it doesn't seem like he is most of the time.
Longshot is one of those people who will care for you, as long as you've given him no reason to not. He doesn't speak a lot, more watches, but when he makes his presence known, instead of hanging out behind the crowd, he shows he cares in almost every way he can. The way he moves, his voice, etc. However, he has a childlike naivete, so he can misinterperate some of the girls' reactions to him, since it was programed in his genetics that the ladies would fall in love with him.
Face Claim: Limahl (who, I found later, ironically is the model for Longshot's absurd mullet)
History: Longshot was a gentically enginered life-form from a dimension called "Mojoverse." He became conscious as an adult, and although he was designed to be a slave for the suprior race, the Spineless Ones, he immediately fought for independence. However, he was forced to work as a stuntman for Mojo in one of his dangerous movies. Still, Longshot led a rebellion, although it ultimately failed. Mojo had Longshot's memories erased, in hopes that he would become his slave again, but Longshot escaped to Earth, with no memories of his name or past.
On Earth, Longshot found work as a stuntman. In his time, three people who were sent after him to bring him back failed, and finally Mojo and Spiral came after him themselves. Longshot, with some help from some friends, sent them back. Eventually Longshot returned to help lead the slaves to freedom again. The Spineless Ones still were not overthrown.
After that, Longshot returned back to Earth, where he met the X-Men. Since the time he joined turned into a mini-crisis, he was immediately joined as a full member of the team.

RP Sample:
Longshot couldn't believe the sudden excitement that came to his life, after having a little bit of break. He had temporarily left the X-Men, gone off on his own for a little vacation, although he hadn't a problem with the team. He enjoyed the work they did most of the time, but since it was going a little slow, he figured it wouldn't be much of a problem if he went out and explored the world on his own for a little.
And then everywhere he went there was a little problem. Right now Longshot was squatting on the edge of a tall building in New York, looking down at something way beyond a typical gang fight. Most of those, people just shot at each other, then ran before the cops could catch them. This skirmish, however, was more violent and as far as Longshot could tell, didn't have a point at all. He almost wondered what little him could do to stop it, before some of the people down the street got caught in the crossfire, but after a moment he grabbed his grappling hook and used it to swing down in the middle of the fight.
It was almost miraculous when Longshot managed to escape from the fight--which he had failed to stop--without even a scratch. Then again, his mutant power was luck. Since no one was specifically going after him, he decided he better go off and get some help, call the police or something.
